A tranquil and mysterious underground water palace
Guanyinshan Reservoir is a designated historic site and part of the Museum of Drinking Water. It is a reservoir with a history of over a hundred years. After its construction, it significantly contributed to improving the life expectancy of the residents at that time and stands as a remarkable achievement in public infrastructure. This facility has been closed to the public since the completion of the new water purification plant in 1977, but the history of this facility is worth telling through professional guided tours. Since its reopening to the public in 2019, it has become a new hidden gem to explore in Taipei City. Its architectural features have earned it the nickname "Underground Water Palace." The scenic trails illuminated by lights create a runway-like setting, making it a perfect spot for Instagram-worthy photos. Don't miss the chance to visit and capture the beautiful scenes!
A Century of Splendor and the Treasure of the Museum
In addition to the Guanyinshan Reservoir, don't miss the century-old "Museum of Drinking Water Pump Room" in Taipei Water Park. Its gorgeous neoclassical appearance and fan-shaped Aeolian columns gallery provides a perfect backdrop for elegant and stylish photos no matter how you pose!
There is also an oldest Japanese pumping motor in the Taipei Water Park, which is one of the two treasures of the museum, so let's search for it together!
